New upstart Aspers have a site in Northampton, although the location is a little odd. It’s flanked by a pet store and a TK Maxx, rather incongruously, but the enormous Carlsberg brewery next door makes a bit more sense. There’s a huge car park right there as well, with plenty of room.

It’s quite an odd feeling as you enter, the lobby area is almost unnoticed with the result that you walk more or less off the street, past the friendly security guy, directly onto the gaming floor itself – naturally your eyes take a moment to adjust, so you’re effectively blind for a few seconds. Don’t be walking into anything ….

The floor itself is standard Aspers type design – which means dark-ish and lots of browns and blacks. The light fixtures look like nothing so much as a type of boiled sweet, the name of which escapes me, but you’d know the moment you saw them. Possibly not a reason to visit, just to see the light fittings, but if you remember the name of the sweets they look like, please email us just to put my mind at rest!

Immediately to the left as you enter are the slots, with a good selection of old and new – the older machines are presumably local favourites, as you don’t see Lucky Lemmings / Lucky Landings (two names, same game I think – some sort of contract dispute) very often, and it’s a genuine classic. They’re obviously tech fans here too, with some shiny new Electronic Roulette kit on an “Organic” setup, and some other odd looking bingo-related machines with a cage full of balls suspended above them. No, I’m not on drugs, they’re just a bit hard to describe. Some of the older kit has seen better days however, with some rough looking screen burn on the older ER terminals.

This is another huge site, with card room and restaurant one level up, and apparently a load more space on the top deck that isn’t used at all. They use the space on the ground floor pretty well, with some huge TVs in evidence and plenty of dark corners in which you could get up to no good. Or sleep.

It may not match the might of the Aspers Casino in the Stratford Westfield, but it certainly offers something appealing for those that live in the local area. It’s a good spot to take a look around, by all accounts buy on the weekends, and with a 99p bacon sarnie breakfast offer in the mornings, what are you waiting for ?

Ever watch the movies and see heroes like James Bond dress up smartly before stepping into a high-profile casino? It has such a glamour to it that you can’t help but admire the aesthetic.

While it is true in real life casinos do have a dress code, they’re often much more casual than you might think. Some are so casual, even, that you might not even need to wear anything as sharp as a suit at all. That isn’t to say that those casinos don’t have standards, though.

This is especially true at Aspers Casino Northampton where the dress code is described in their own words as “smart, relaxed and stylish”.

This means that you don’t have to come dressed in a suit and tie, a cocktail dress or a ball gown. After all, you want to be relaxed and not intimidated by feeling under or overdressed.

As you can see, the dress code at Aspers Casino Northampton is somewhat more casual than the usual casino affair. Yet, it still has standards that guests must live up to. They are lenient, but at the same time they have their rules so that everyone can have a fun and relaxed time inside their walls.

Basically, just look smart and clean – don’t worry too much about looking too sophisticated. It’s just meant to be a fun place to be, after all.

What Shouldn’t I Wear at Aspers Casino Northampton?

Now that you know what you can wear, let’s go over what you shouldn’t wear at Aspers Casino Northampton. It’s easier to remember what not to wear then what you can wear, after all. So, we advise you to read this list carefully and think twice about your outfit before entering Aspers Casino Northampton.

It’s integral you come looking the right way, after all. Without further ado, let’s take a look at what you shouldn’t wear at Asper Casino Northampton in more detail:

Aspers Casino Northampton Dress Code Enforcement

  • Hats – As discussed in the previous section, only poker players get to wear hats as it could be a crucial part of the game. Everywhere else, it’s a no-no. It generally looks too suspicious and there’s no need for it.
  • Ripped/Dirty Jeans – Yes, even if your jeans are stylised to look dirty/ripped it is not allowed. This is because it exposes skin and looks far too grubby and unsophisticated. We like casual, but that is just too casual.
  • Dirty Work Clothes – If you come straight in from work in your dirty high viz jacket and dirt-caked work trousers then you will be denied entry until you go home and change. This isn’t out of disrespect, but Aspers Casino wants a relaxed atmosphere. Coming in your work clothes is far from being relaxed.
  • Sunglasses – Simply a big no-no. Like hats, it looks suspicious and unsettling. How comfortable would you feel if someone opposite you was wear non-reflective shades? Not very. Also, there’s no need seeing as Aspers Casino Northampton is indoors.
  • Inappropriate Outfits – Okay, this is a broad spectrum of things, so bear with us. What we mean by “inappropriate” is anything that could be deemed offensive or unsightly: no t-shirts with offensive slogans or rude words on them; nothing suggestive or anything that reveals too much skin; no threatening clothing with spikes all over it; and most certainly not onesies (unless that’s part of the fancy dress).
  • Gym Wear – There’s a time and a place to wear tracksuits and it’s most certainly not at Aspers Casino Northampton. If you want to go to the gym before/after you visit, cover your gym stuff up with something else at least.

Overall, it’s important to respect these rules, so that you make other players inside Aspers Casino Northampton feel comfortable and included.

Not obeying the dress code will, again, create a lot of embarrassment for you at the front door when the bouncer denies you entry.

In case you want more convincing, here are a few reasons people like to go to Aspers Casino Northampton:

Aspers Casino Northampton Dress Code Online

  • A Night Out: Like going to a nightclub, going to a casino can be an experience unto itself so dressing up correctly is important. It makes the whole event feel much more fun that way if there are no wardrobe malfunctions.
  • Inclusivity: If everybody has to abide by the same dress code, no one can feel left out or over/underdressed and, therefore, has a much better time. Although, it’s pretty hard to feel either when said dress code is pretty casual in the first place!
  • Safety: Nobody wants their night ruined by an unfortunate injury. And with some clothes, that can be a very strong possibility. If you wear steel-capped boots, for instance, what’s to say you don’t end up hurting someone even if you don’t mean to? Save yourself the hospital trip and dress smartly.
  • It’s Better to Look Nice: Sometimes, the obvious reason is the most truthful. Looking scruffy is never a good idea. If you want to look nice then you should. Going to Aspers Casino Northampton should be a memorable experience for all the right reasons and that includes what you’re wearing.
